Group Exercise Leaders
Water Fitness
Juniper Swim and Fitness Center is accepting applications for Group Exercise Leaders to lead Water Fitness classes. Group Exercise Leaders provide safe and rewarding fitness opportunities for patrons, assisting them to achieve their fitness goals and to improve their self-image.
Primary duties:
• Plan and instruct fitness classes in accordance
with JSFC standards.
• Closely supervise class participants to ensure a
safe experience.
• Assist with promotion of fitness programs.
• Maintain required course records, equipment, and
supplies.
Starting hourly wage: $16 - $22 per class, based on a one-hour class.
Hours: Tuesdays at 6:00 to 7:00 a.m. and some Sundays at 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Qualified candidates should possess the
following:
• High school graduation or equivalency; and one year
of professional fitness instructor work experience, with
current AEA and/or ACE certification preferred; or any
satisfactory combination of experience and training which
demonstrates the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the
above described duties.
• Considerable knowledge of exercise physiology,
anatomy, kinesiology, and current aerobic and fitness practices
and techniques.
• Knowledge of basic weight training principles and
techniques.
• Ability to lead fitness classes utilizing a variety
of techniques and styles, and to provide for the needs of a
variety of ages and fitness levels.
• Good communication skills; strong planning,
organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional ability to work cooperatively with
staff and the general public.
