BMPRD Employee Benefits
HEALTH INSURANCE:
The district offers a PPO insurance plan through Pacific Source. The maximum deductible per year is $1,000 single/$3,000 family. The district provides a medical expense reimbursement plan (MERP) for the deductible where employees are reimbursed for their deductible expenses. Once you are on the website, go to the Provider Directory and follow the instructions to find a preferred provider closest to you.
Full time employees are eligible to enroll with up to a one-month waiting period. Part time employees are eligible to enroll with a three-month waiting period and must work at least 80 hours per month. The district pays 100% of the monthly premium for full time employees with the exception of spouse/family coverage. Part time employees pay a portion of the monthly premium.
DENTAL INSURANCE:
The district is self-insured and offers a traditional dental plan through Century Insurance Group for full time employees. The district pays 100% of the monthly premiums for full time employees. The plan pays a straight percent with an annual maximum benefit per individual of $1,500.00. Part time employees are offered a traditional dental plan through Pacific Source. Part time employees pay a portion of the monthly premium.
VISION INSURANCE:
The district is self-insured through Century Insurance Group. The district pays 100% of the monthly premium for full time employees.
VOLUNTARY LIFE INSURANCE
The District provides a $50,000 Term Life insurance policy, through Lifewise Assurance Company, for full time employees.
LONG TERM DISABILITY (LTD)
The District provides a long term disability plan, through Lifewise Assurance Company for full time employees.
SUPPLEMENTAL INSURANCE
Through AFLAC, employees may elect to purchase Short Term Disability, Cancer Protection, Accident Benefits, Intensive Care, Life Insurance, and Long Term Care.
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PLAN
The District provides a confidential employee assistance program. Premiums are 100% paid by the District and coverage includes three counseling sessions per year for the employees and their eligible dependents. Services are provided by Oregon Psychological and Consulting Associates and are confidential to the fullest extent provided by the laws.
FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT
Enrollment in the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) plan gives employees the opportunity to pay for certain expenses on a pre-tax basis, such as dependent care costs and out-of-pocket medical and dental expenses.
DEFERRED COMPENSATION
Employees may voluntarily participate in deferred compensation through ICMA, Nationwide and/or Valic. Deferred compensation plans are 457 plans that allow employees to defer a portion of their salary on a pre-tax basis until retirement.
PUBLIC EMPLOYEE RETIREMENT SYSTEM (PERS)/OREGON PUBLIC SERVICE RETIREM PLAN (OPSRP)
Eligibility: After completion of six full calendar months, with a minimum of 50 hours per month, employees will automatically become a member of PERS/OPSRP.
Tier One or Tier Two PERS Programs
Oregon Public Service Retirement Plan
Employees hired on or after August 29, 2003 become part of OPSRP (after working for the District for a six month waiting period and averaging 50 hours per month), unless membership was previously established in PERS. A Tier One or Tier Two member who has a six month service break becomes a member of OPSRP for any subsequent employment upon rehire.
Contributions: The Districts pays the entire contribution (based on salary) to this retirement program for District employees.

MEMBERSHIP TO JUNIPER SWIM AND FITNESS CENTER
Employees receive a membership to Juniper Swim and Fitness Center while employed. Full time employees receive a family membership upon hire and part time employees receive a family membership upon completion of six months.
BEND METRO PARK AND RECREATION DISTRICT PROGRAMS
Employees receive a discounted rate for eligible programs (depending upon program).
VACATION LEAVE
Full Time Employees: General employees accrue paid vacation leave at the annual rate of 96 hours per year for 12-60 months of service. After 60 months of service, hours may increase based on months of service.
Part Time Employees: After working six full calendar months, employees averaging 80 hours per month accrue prorated paid vacation leave based on the number of hours worked.
SICK LEAVE
Full Time Employees: Accrue paid sick leave at the rate of 96 hours annually.
Part Time Employees: After working six full calendar months, employees averaging 80 hours per month accrue prorated paid vacation leave based on the number of hours worked.
HOLIDAYS
Full time employees and part time employees that average 80 hours per month for six months receive the following holidays:
• New Year's Day - January 1
• Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday - Third Monday in
January
• President's Day - Third Monday in February
• Memorial Day - Last Monday in May
• Independence Day - July 4
• Labor Day - First Monday in September
• Veteran's Day - November 11
• Thanksgiving Day - Fourth Thursday in November
• Friday after Thanksgiving
• Christmas Day - December 25
PERSONAL LEAVE
After six months, full time employees receive one
personal leave day each calendar year. Part-time
employees receive one personal leave day based on a prorated
basis.
DIRECT PAYROLL DEPOSIT
Employees are encouraged to have their paycheck deposited
directly into their Bank or Credit Union. Forms are
available from Payroll or Human Resources.
OTHER BENEFITS
Employees may participate in the Mid-Oregon Federal Credit
Union.
