This riverfront park is the gateway to one of Bend's historic neighborhoods. Brooks Park features open lawn for casual play and picnicking. Renovation in the fall of 2001, included new turf, planting area, canoe launch, paver walkway, benches and tables. Brooks Park is just over the Newport Street bridge from Bend's downtown area, making this a great place to walk to for lunch and enjoy a beautiful view of the river.
The Bend Heroes Memorial in Brooks Park was dedicated on November 11, 2009. The site has a memorial for local veterans and first responders and will is a place where all can go to reflect on those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for others.
