A Journey Through Out Water Systems Series: City of Bend
Nature has given the residents of the City of Bend a precious, high quality supply of cold, clear water. We are the envy of many other communities because our exceptional water comes from both surface and groundwater sources.  This session is an introduction to Bend’s water supply sources and its sustainable approach to water management, from source to distribution.

Wastewater & Sewer Management

To protect public health and the environment, used water travels through a network of buried pipelines and pumps (the sewer collection system) to the water reclamation facility northeast of Bend. It is cleaned before being returned to the environment. Some water is used for irrigation.  This session will explore how the City safely and sustainably returns water to the environment.

The City’s Stormwater program covers water quantity issues to prevent localized flooding which improves public safety.  The program also addresses water quality for our surface water and groundwater. This session will explore both the regulatory management and the operational priorities related to Stormwater.
