Celebrate the Opening of Discovery Park, Bend’s Newest Community Park, on July 16th

The community is invited to celebrate the opening Discovery Park, Bend Park & Recreation District’s newest community park, on Thursday, July 16th at 4:30 pm. The park is located in the NorthWest Crossing neighborhood at 1315 NW Discovery Park Drive, west of Mt. Washington Drive. The celebration is free to all and will feature live music and games at 4:30 pm and a presentation at 5:15 pm followed by ice cream treats, music and games.
Open since June 2nd, Discovery Park features approximately 12 acres of developed park land, a 3-acre irrigation lake and about 20 acres of open space. Park amenities include a picnic shelter, children’s natural play area, off-leash dog park, open lawns and paved trails. Discovery Trail runs through the park, creating a link between the West Bend Trail to the south and Shevlin Park to the north. The park was jointly developed by the District and NorthWest Crossing’s developer, West Bend Properties, for the benefit of all residents of the District.
