The District’s Board of Directors is responsible for developing District goals and setting policy.
The Board meets regularly on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the district office, 799 SW Columbia, unless otherwise noted.

The Board generally meets in a work session at 5:30 p.m. followed by a regular business meeting at 7 p.m. Work sessions are scheduled for the Board to receive and discuss information regarding district operations, projects and planning to aid in their decision-making process. The Board conducts its business during regular meetings to receive information and take action on district operations such as approving contracts, agreements, policies and procedures.
All work sessions and regular meetings are open to the public.
The Board values public comment as an important component of effective governance of the District and welcomes it through in-person and electronic methods.
1. Public Comment:
Work Session: The Board may choose to accept public comment on work session agenda items at the end of their discussion. Those who wish to address the Board regarding a work session item are asked to complete the public comment card and state their name and address at the beginning of their remarks. Visitors are asked to limit their remarks to three minutes.
Regular Meeting: Visitors are invited to address the Board following the call to order. Those who wish to address the Board are asked to complete a public comment card and state their name and address at the beginning of their remarks to the Board. Visitors are asked to limit their remarks to three minutes. Individuals who wish to also offer written materials or letters related to his or her in-person comments are asked to submit them to Board@bendparksandrec.org at least 48 hours in advance of the Board meeting. If that is not possible, written materials will be provided to the Board of Directors following the meeting, which may be after Board action.

Note: input submitted electronically becomes a public record; however, it is not entered into the Board meeting record if it relates to an agenda topic. If you wish to submit public comment for a Board meeting, please join us for in-person public comment.
The Board may meet in executive session pursuant to state statutes. Executive sessions are closed to all members of the public except for representatives of the news media.
