‘For the Health of It!’ Health & Wellness Fair | June 13 | Larkspur Community Center | All ages | Free

Make plans to attend the ‘For the Health of It’ Health and Wellness Fair on Tuesday, June 13, 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. outdoors at Larkspur Community Center.

Join Bend Park and Recreation District and community providers for a free, fun-filled afternoon focused on your health including free health screenings and giveaways.

  • Dozens of health and wellness vendors
  • Farmer’s Market with a variety of products
  • Larkspur Community Center tours available

Roller Pride | Friday & Saturday, June 23 – 24 | 6:30 – 10:00 p.m. | The Pavilion

A dance party celebrating Pride and community with roller skating, music and good fun. The beats will be on, the fire pits going and the disco ball shining!

Friday event is all ages; Saturday is age 18+ with local brewery on site.

$10/person including skate rental.

Fun on the Fly! | Fridays in June & July | Summer 2023 | All ages | Free

Crafts, games, sports, play…It’s Fun on the Fly!

Each Friday of the summer, BPRD will bring fun to your neighborhood and provide children the opportunity to participate in crafts, water play, field games, sports activities and much more.

Come enjoy these great recreational activities with your neighbors at no cost. Bilingual staff will be present (English & Spanish).

4th of July Pet Parade | Downtown Bend | All ages | Free

In partnership with the City of Bend, the July 4th Pet Parade is a community tradition since 1924 and it’s now designated as an Oregon Heritage tradition.

Parade Lineup at Harmon Park begins: 9:00 am
Parade begins: 10:00 am
Ends at Drake Park

Parade in costume with your pet or stuffed animal on pulled wagons, bikes or trikes or watch all the action on the new parade route.

Movies in the Park | Fridays | Summer 2023 | All ages | Free

Nothing beats a movie under the stars!

Join us each summer for our annual Movies in the Park events. Enjoy games and craft fun starting at 7:00 p.m. Movies begin at 8:00 p.m. Spanish-speaking staff on site.

Kids Triathlon | Sunday, August 27, 2023 | 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. | Juniper Swim & Fitness Center | Ages: 4 – 15

Swim! Bike! Run! Do a triathlon! The swimming portion of this non-timed event will be held in the safety of a supervised pool.

  • The mountain biking and running portions will be held in Juniper Park.
  • The event focuses on sportsmanship and making new friends. All abilities are welcome.
  • Build your skills and get ready for the race by signing up for one of the four weekly clinics.

Kids Triathlon Event Details

Race Lengths:

  • 4 – 6 year olds:  25 meter swim, 1/3 mile bike, 400 yard run
  • 7 – 9 year olds:  50 meter swim, 1 mile bike, 800 yard run
  • 10 – 12 year olds:  100 meter swim, 1.5 mile bike, 1 mile run
  • 13 – 15 year olds:  200 meter swim, 2 mile bike, 1.5 mile run

Discover Nature Festival | 2023 date TBD | Alpenglow Park | All ages | Free

Discover Nature Festival celebrates the diversity of ways that we all connect with nature. The event provides something for everyone, including nature arts and crafts, STEM activities, outdoor recreation, music, food, and more. Bring your family out to try a new outdoor activity, connect with amazing community organizations, and learn how we can all help take care of our environment and community. The event is made possible by 20+ community partners, including Bend Park and Recreation District and Deschutes National Forest.  A huge thank you to our presenting sponsor, The Gear Fix!

Winter Solstice Celebration | 2023 date TBD | The Pavilion | All ages

Bend Park and Recreation District’s ice rink will celebrate the shortest day of the year with a Winter Solstice Celebration. With twinkling lights to welcome winter’s delights, ice skaters will enjoy treats and a special figure skating performance by Bend Ice Figure Skating Club.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation for NeighborImpact to receive a special $6 admission price including skate rental. NeighborImpact’s Food Bank welcomes any non-perishable food donations, but especially needs these nutritious foods: pasta, canned vegetables, canned tuna, canned fruit, soups and ready to eat meals.
