Spend some time in a landscape of your own imagination, using oil paint and the illusion of detail as your guiding principle to paint dynamic skies and impressionistic scenery. The emphasis of this 4-week class will be on conveying space in the picture plane through value and color mixing, and implying a landscape through expressive brushwork, shape and texture, while finessing a convincing and satisfying composition and color palette. Expect to learn a lot about the nature of oil paint and to tap into your flow-state as your painting playfully and surprisingly develops from week to week. Instructor: Stephen Teater.
