Give Play
There are many families in our community who face the challenges of affording to live and work in Bend and finding extra money to pay for essential programs like after-school care, a session of swim lessons or the chance for their children to play on a sports team.
Your donation to Bend Park and Recreation Foundation can help families by providing the resources needed to take part in activities that improve health, increase confidence and independence, and enrich lives.
- $50 supports a session of swim lessons for a child
- $100 provides a month of fitness and swim activities for a family of four
- $150 funds assistance with one month of after-school care for a child
Reducing barriers
Bend Park & Recreation District offers publicly funded assistance with program registration based upon need. Last year, BPRD distributed more than $820,000 in recreation scholarships to individuals with financial need. Financial assistance jumped four times since 2020.
The Foundation shares in this commitment by raising private dollars to add to the resources available as funding for recreation scholarships. We step in to fill gaps people might have too – such as additional resources to cover program fees or help with getting the right equipment, like sports shoes, a bike helmet or a swim suit.

Create a legacy of parks & recreation into the future
Your gift can support parks & recreation opportunities today and into the future.
Bend Park & Recreation Foundation has established an endowment with Oregon Community Foundation called the Access for All Fund. The goal of this fund is to ensure that everyone will always have the opportunity to participate in recreation programs. The fund was established to grow private donations to someday provide non-tax supported funding for needs based assistance, providing the resources for people to play.
Donations that create a legacy can include cash donations, estate bequests, life insurance, charitable remainder trusts, gifts from IRA accounts and appreciated assets. Your financial advisor is the best source for information on how your gift can support your financial goals today and provide benefit to the Bend Park & Recreation Foundation into the future. Please contact us for more information and if you are considering including parks and recreation in your financial and estate plans.
