Project Overview
SURVEY! Initial concept designs for the park are complete and the survey is open for YOU to tell us what you think. Visit the project storymap to learn more and take the survey. The survey is open through April 17th.
Acquired by the district in 2023, this 3.1-acre property at the end of Reed Lane will provide a new neighborhood park for residents in southwest Bend which has been underserved by a park since its residential expansion over the past decade.
Neighborhood parks offer amenities like picnic shelters, open lawn, play areas, paths, and natural areas. The design of this park will follow an outreach process with surrounding neighbors this fall 2026.
Formerly known as the Reed Lane park site, the recommended name of Coulter Grove by the Naming Committee was approved by the board of directors on October 21st, 2025.

To meet the needs of residents in this urban infill area and to complete the need for Park Search Area 18, the district acquired a 4.3 acre property from the Coulter family in 2023. In 2025, the district split the property and the approximately 3.17-acre property east of Coulter Lane will serve the neighborhood park needs of the community.
In 2025, the BPRD Naming Committee recommended, and the Board of Directors approved, “Coulter Grove Park” as the name for this park. The park site was previously owned by the Coulter family, is located at the intersection of SW Coulter Lane and Reed Lane, and includes a mature tree grove. Given this site context, the chosen name helps invoke the history of the site by including the name of the family who owned the property for over 50-years, is geographically representative given the park site is immediately adjacent to Coulter Lane and recognizes the natural features present on the land.
