Attending a Meeting

Regular Meeting Schedule

Board meetings are open to the public and can be attended in person or virtually. Meeting agendas are posted in advance in the Agenda/Materials column of the Board Meeting Information and Archives. Recordings and approved minutes are added after the meeting in the Meeting Summary column of the Board Meeting Information and Archives.

  • When: First and third Tuesday of each month (unless otherwise noted).
  • Start Time: 5:30 p.m.
  • Format: Meetings are open to the public and held in person and via Zoom.
  • In person: Attend at the meeting location listed on the agenda.
  • Virtually: Join online using the Virtual/remote link posted with the meeting agenda.

Attending Virtually (Zoom)

A Zoom link is provided in the Agenda for each meeting. To join:

  1. Open the Meeting Report for the meeting you want to attend.
  2. Go to the Agenda section.
  3. Use the webinar link listed in the agenda.

Public Comment

The Board welcomes public input on district-related topics at its meetings. A public comment period is held at the beginning of each meeting and is intended for community members to share their thoughts, this time is not intended to be a dialog with the board.

How to provide public comment:

  • In person: Complete a public comment card and submit it to staff at the back of the room.
  • Virtually (Zoom): Use the “Raise Hand” feature before the meeting begins. Speakers will be called in the order requests are received. Please turn on your camera and microphone when speaking.

Guidelines:

  • Comments are limited to three minutes per speaker.
  • If questions arise, Board or staff follow‑up will occur after the meeting.
  • Written materials related to in‑person comments must be submitted at least 48 hours before the meeting to allow for Board review. Materials received later will be shared with the Board after the meeting and may be reviewed after Board action.

Types of Board Meetings

Work Session

  • Purpose: Receive and discuss information
  • Focus areas include district operations, projects, and planning
  • No formal board actions are taken

Business Session

  • Purpose: Conduct official district business
  • Actions include approving contracts, agreements, policies, and procedures
  • All decisions require a motion and open vote

Executive Session

  • Held under state statute
  • Closed to the public
  • Open only to representatives of the news media
