Hollinshead-Matson Homestead Museum Open House

The Hollinshead-Matson Homestead Museum offers visitors a look back to life in Central Oregon in the 1940’s.

Join us for a free open house, tour the museum and hear stories about farming and life in Bend from Sharron Rosengarth, one of the Matson family children that grew up in the homestead house.

Event hosted by Sharron Rosengarth and Bend Park and Recreation District, with support from volunteers and Deschutes County Historical Museum.

Pavilion-Palooza Event

Pavilion-Palooza is back and even better – it’s FREE!

Pavilion-Palooza is a fun-filled afternoon with roller skating, skatepark features, music by DJ Teafly, drums and hula performance by Hokule’a Ohana Central Oregon, art and sports activities and more.

Hosted by the Bend Park & Recreation Foundation, the event is free thanks to Old Mill Studio Vacation Rental, a generous community sponsor. Your donations and purchase of food, beverages and raffle tickets at the event help support the recreation scholarship program, offering people in our community access to BPRD recreation programs and opportunities.

  • Includes all activities and skate rentals as available.
  • Skate rental availability is limited. Bring your skates if you have them.
  • Skateboards and scooters with helmets welcome in skatepark. Sorry, no bikes.
  • Food and beverages available for purchase.
  • Free lemonade and cookies offered by Bend Park and Recreation Foundation.
  • Blankets and chairs welcome for lawn area.

In this presentation, we’ll explore how anxiety, depression, and mood disorders can uniquely affect older adults, along with effective approaches to prevention, treatment, and support. We’ll also discuss how to recognize signs in yourself or a loved one, and how to move beyond the stigma to prioritize emotional well-being with confidence and compassion.
