Project Overview
Sylvan Park, BPRD’s highest elevation park in Bend, is located at the top of Awbrey Butte and is a popular park for neighbors. It features abundant natural area, open lawn, mature trees, a playground, connections to the Sylvan to Summit trails, and tennis courts.
The small wood-based playground was built in 1993 and is showing its age, no longer serving the needs of the growing neighborhood. This project will replace the playground and surfacing, update park furnishings and create an accessible route to the playground from the parking area. The tennis courts, parking lot, and surrounding trails are not a part of this project.
A two-round public outreach process began in January 2025 to gather input from neighbors regarding the renovation. The results of both surveys can be found on the Documents and Plans tab.
