BPRD Trails Crew’s favorite picks
Now is the perfect time to explore local trails and appreciate the changing seasons. Here are the top recommendations from the Natural Resources and Trails team.
Riley Ranch Nature Reserve
“My favorite park to hike is Riley Ranch. It’s a great place to reconnect with nature and take a step back from the stresses of everyday life.” – Joe Mauti, Natural Resources Supervisor. Learn more about Riley Ranch trails.
Shevlin Park
“My favorite trail is the Shevlin Rim Loop trail. It’s a great running loop that lets you see all the different aspects of the Shevlin Park ecosystem. Plus, you never know when you will come across a hiker strumming a ukulele 😊. (True story)” – Zara Hickman, Manager of Trails and Natural Resources.
Shevlin Park (former Tree Farm area)
“My favorite trail is Bill’s Trail in the tree farm section of Shevlin Park. I worked a lot on this trail and recognized the care and love that went into it. It also has some beautiful views.” – Amy Hippenhammer, Park Maintenance Worker. Explore Shevlin Park trails.
