Full-time Positions

Full-Time Benefits: updated April 18, 2023

Employees receive:

    • Paid sick leave
    • Paid vacation: five days provided upon hire, then accrued monthly
    • Paid holidays (see list below)
    • One paid personal day each year
    • Special Leave with Pay: employees are eligible for paid leave in certain circumstances such as bereavement leave, jury service leave and more
    • Medical, dental, vision and hearing health insurance plans; coverage effective the first of the month following hire date
    • Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA):
      • The district reimburses 100% of the deductible expense each year for employees enrolled in the medical insurance plan
      • The HRA also covers $1,500 of hearing aids and increased discounts on 90-day prescriptions
    • Employee-funded flexible spending accounts for tax savings on eligible health care or dependent care expenses
    • Annual merit increases, if approved by the Board of Directors, based on performance
    • Annual Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) increases, if approved by the Board of Directors

    • Long-term disability insurance
    • Bend Park and Recreation District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees by contributing the employer portion:
      • Full-time employees will qualify for this program after completing six months of employment
      • At qualifying, they will be required to contribute 6% of their pay for the employee portion, otherwise known as the Individual Account Program
    • Opportunity to enroll in a deferred compensation program (457(b)) offering a wide variety of investment options
    • Family Recreation Facility Pass for Juniper Swim & Fitness Center, The Pavilion and the Larkspur Community Center to use immediately
    • Family discounts on many recreation programs upon hire
    • Access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that offers work-life counseling and family resources
    • Eligible to participate in professional development (which may include classes, training or professional certification)
    • Education Assistance, which includes up to $21,000 tuition reimbursement

Part-time Positions

    • Paid sick leave accrued at a rate of 1 hour per 30 hours worked
    • Family Facility Pass for Juniper Swim & Fitness Center, The Pavilion and the Larkspur Community Center to use immediately
    • Discounts on many recreation programs upon hire. Discounts are extended to immediate family members after 6 months of employment provided employee works at least 50 hours each month
    • Access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that offers work-life counseling and family resources
    • Eligible to participate in professional development (which may include classes, training or certification)
    • Opportunity to enroll in a deferred compensation program (457(b)) offering a wide variety of investment options

DIRECT PAYROLL DEPOSIT

Employees are encouraged to have their paycheck deposited directly into their bank or credit union. Forms are available from Payroll or Human Resources.
