Our "Learn to Play" program is designed to introduce players with little experience to the sport of ice hockey. Designed to develop the fundamentals of the game, promote physical fitness and above all else have fun. Participants should be able to skate on their own before enrolling in this class. For those that have wanted to try hockey but have never played before, this is your class. Yes, we're talking complete beginner to hockey and you're totally welcome in all your newness to the sport. So, let�??s get together, learn something new and play hockey! Designed to develop the game's fundamentals, you'll learn the basics of the game, hone in particular skills, improve your physical fitness and, above all else, have fun. Prerequisites: You need to be able to skate forward and backward unassisted and full hockey gear is required. Full gear consists of helmet, elbow pads, hockey gloves, chest protector (optional), athletic supporter as needed, hockey pants/breezers, shin guards and hockey skates. Invest in and hone your hockey skating skills in this Adult Skills and Drills Power Skating class. With an instructor's guidance, work on skating techniques that focus on and develop your edge work, agility and stamina, with and without sticks and pucks. Full hockey gear required; shoulder pads optional.

Face coverings required at all times while at the Pavilion, including while on the ice. The indoor viewing area and locker rooms will not be available, so arrive to your session with all equipment on. Skates may be put on outside the rink.

2- 3 years of hockey/skating experience required.
Continue your progression of hockey with the next level. Participants must have participated in a previous session of Learn to Play Hockey 2. Participants will continue to refine their fundamental hockey skills as well as start to transfer their practice skills into fun game like scrimmages.
