Drive-thru food drive this Saturday at Larkspur Community Center
December 9, 2025
The Bend Park and Recreation District is hosting a Drive-Thru Holiday Food Drive on Saturday, Dec. 13, to help fill the shelves at the NeighborImpact Food Bank.
Community members are invited to bring food donations to Larkspur Community Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday. The drop-off location is at the Larkspur Community Center’s Bend Senior Center entrance at 1600 SE Reed Market Rd. BPRD staff and volunteers will be on site to make it easy for donors to remain in their vehicles if desired.
Food Bank donation items needed most include:
- Canned proteins (chicken, tuna, etc.)
- Soups and stews
- Canned vegetables and fruit
- Peanut butter
- No glass packaging, please.
The NeighborImpact food bank provides essential support for our community, distributing food through 57 partner agencies and 15 mobile food pantry sites. In 2024, food bank resources provided 515,330 meals and supported 417,730 visits to a food pantry. Government funding cuts have resulted in a 25% decrease in meat, dairy, and produce available to NeighborImpact from Oregon Food Bank.
“NeighborImpact Food Bank is so grateful for community food donations – every item donated means more food on the shelf of someone asking for help,” said Jordan Reeher, Food Bank Manager. “This year, our government food supply was cut significantly, so we are relying on community donations to continue providing quality, healthy food to our Central Oregon neighbors.”
NeighborImpact donation bins are also available at Juniper Swim & Fitness Center, Larkspur Community Center, The Pavilion and the BPRD Office through Jan. 4. Facility visitors are encouraged to bring food items to donate during regular hours.
“Community members need one another. We want to support NeighborImpact’s important mission to provide food for our neighbors this winter,” said Julie Brown, BPRD community engagement director.
